Glenrothes if I remember correctly. Roger the Dodger Posted August 10, Its not worth a burnt out welder, local lad done in two inverters lately, can't recall the size of genie but he's borrowed my tig inverter now When I was buying the inverter I wanted a genny friendly one and I was told the thermal arc was one so I chanced it.

It has 's of hours done on the genny now and one burnt out capacitor in the genny itself is the only breakdown I got. I must try it out and see. Cork Guest. Know a lad who burnt out his inverter on a genie also. A common occurrence methinks Good Jaysus your asking a good one there:D, it's a yanmar engine and an Italian genny but I can't remember the name on it.

The only thing is I don't do an awful lot of welding and the thing can be weeks inbetween use so it's not exactly doing hard graft. I was looking at getting a genie for it , in fact I posted here asking about it but I decided to save my money in the end as I am needing a new compressor and I hope to be building a new farm workshop later this year if it can be afforded.

I bought on price really , not quality as I got a good deal on it at Scotland's royal highland show. Arc Master. Ive never had any bother with it cutting out if using at amp but it blow the 13 amp fuse if tried at full whack. Just goes to show you that not everything is made where it says.

I suppose all brands have a budget range as well as a mainstream one. You can buy 2 or 3 of them for the price of a brand name one. Not that I'd ever recommend one to anyone, especially if you're doing lots of heavy welding - the duty cycle ratings are terrible. Last edited: May 20, I can't be bothered with any of that. Point and shoot, a bit of zinc paint over the top and away I go I haven't had a gasless weld break yet? I guess it depends what you're welding.
